ILAB = Research + Innovation

At Hickok Cole we strive to be ahead of the curve. To do that, we have created our iLab program. This consists of “bottom up” research by staff through micro-grants that allow them to pursue passion projects that also have potential to benefit the firm, and “top down” research conducted with our marketing and business development departments based on what we see coming in the marketplace. Together, we meet in the middle to apply our knowledge and exploration to the design of our projects.

MICROGRANTS
Micro-grants exist to promote disruptive innovation at Hickok Cole. We crowd-source the most compelling proposals from our staff, proposals are presented, and employees vote. The winners commence an intensive research period and end with a deliverable study or concept. Through this exploration, we aim to stretch conventional notions about architecture, fabrication, work styles, and entrepreneurship. The result is a body of research that exemplifies our most forward-thinking ideas.
