Begoña Blasco joined Hickok Cole Architects in 2016 as Staff Architect. She graduated from The Catholic University of America (CUA) with a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Sustainable Design. While in school, Begoña founded and served as president of CUA ASHRAE Student Chapter, which under her leadership received a recognition of In the Spirit of the Mission Service Award. For her thesis she investigated the trends and needs for adaptability within low-income housing, which led to developing a system of movable-interior-partitions within prototype homes that accommodated their greatest adaptability. In recognition of her achievement on her thesis project Begoña was awarded the ARCC King Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research and the CUA Friends of Architecture 2016 Prize for Excellence in Design & Building Systems/Materials. Begoña currently sits on the Green Impact Campaign Advisory Board and in her free time helps her fiancé manage his Frozen-Fruit-Bar business.
