Neil Flanagan works on commercial buildings at Hickok Cole, with a particular focus on sustainable design, urban infill, and the approvals process. What brings him in every day is how architecture makes connections between unexpected issues: how air pressure and symbolism meet in the skin of a building, or how design and comfort influence the shape of a bench.
Neil graduated from Barnard + Columbia architecture program and has an M. Arch from the Yale School of Architecture. Prior to Hickok Cole, he worked for architecture firms in New York and Moscow and a string of related jobs, from a client representative to historical interpreter for log cabin construction.
Neil has been contributor to the website Greater Greater Washington since 2009.
