Sean McTaggart came to Hickok Cole Architects in March 2012 as full-time staff architect, following a brief stint working at a small Jersey shore office. Originally from South Jersey, Sean attended Catholic University in Washington, DC, where he in six years earned a B.S. in Architecture, Master of Architecture, and a Master of Science in Sustainable Design.

His 2011 graduate thesis A New Olympic Legacy was the recipient of several awards, including “super jury” selection; it was the culmination of his interest in large-scale urban design and sustainability. Having grown up in the suburbs, Sean’s passion now instead lies in remaking downtown cities as vibrant urban environments.

Sean is a member of the design committee, sustainable design committee, & HCA softball team. Eager to wrap up his IDP hours to gain licensure, his current specialty is multi-family housing, particularly facade designs. An avid marathon runner and Philly sports fanatic, he also enjoys furniture-making, indie music, and golfing. Sean has lived & traveled extensively throughout Europe, and through this collective experience has developed a rather unique design perspective.
